If this sounds like just another Congressional stimulus program that never really helps anyone, it’s not. This is a direct cash program that could help homeowners buy a big screen TV. We call it the Free Big Screen TV Earmark Program for Homeowners.

Here’s how we at Investigative Guy came up with the idea for the program.

Last year, Congress banned earmarks because they were considered private pork barrel appropriations. But once the ban was in place, a loophole was discovered. The ban only prohibited corporations, not non-profits, from getting money.

So corporations came up with a scheme to use the loophole. Here is how the scheme works. A defense contractor (or anyone who wants free money from Congress) now just sets up a non-profit front, greases the palm of the representative with a contribution, and the rep puts in an earmark for the nonprofit to get an appropriation. The nonprofit then launders the money to the contractor.

Investigative guy says: why should only defense contractors benefit from the loophole? Every homeowner should get on board too. Here is where the Free Big Screen TV Earmark Program for Homeowners kicks in.

Be the first on your block to:
1. Create a phony nonprofit. Call it Free TVs For Consumers Charity
2. Send at least $10 to any representative. Remember, don’t send too much. They can be bought cheap.
3. Send in earmark request via your charity for the funds necessary to get a great big screen TV. Be sure your request asks for sufficient appropriation to cover shipping and installation of the TV at your home.
4. Sit back and enjoy.
P.S. Even with your new TV, you don’t have to watch Congressional clowns on CSPAN.
Fine print …. there really is no fine print to the program. According to the New York Times one defense contractor set up a web site for their “company nonprofit ” even before it had officially received non-profit status .The non profit received over 10 million in earmarks courtesy Rep Marcy Kaptur of Ohio.
