It was as wild as it gets when in 2006 Sam Suleiman, an alleged mortgage fraud kingpin, attacked TV reporter John Mattes (me) on camera. Suleiman served 10 months for the attack.
Now Suleiman, along with his wife Rosa, has been charged with yet another crime, this time with swindling the elderly. A 4-count complaint alleges that the couple stole thousands from two elderly victims in San Diego.
As we reported 2 months ago (see our story Con Men Get Rich), Suleiman and Rosa have been hard at work recently, running multiple mortgage modification scams defrauding homeowners. One victim had this to say about Rosa:
“This woman is such a lying, cheating underhanded person. I have never been lied to in my entire life like she lied to me. Absolutely nothing was done to help me get my loan modified.”
Ouch, not kind words. But what can you say about people that steal from the elderly?
