UPDATE
The California State Bar Association has raided the offices of Kramer and Kaslow seizing records of their so called mass joinder suit. When you call the main number of the law firm at 818-224-3900 you get a recording from the state bar.It is never a good sign when you call a law office and the Bar Assn. answers the phone. The raid follows the story we broke months ago about runners offering to help people avoid foreclosure if they paid $4000 to $5000 to join a lawsuit fronted by attorney Phil Kramer. We busted one of the scam artists on camera but that did not stop the marketing of the scheme. We now know phone rooms have popped up all over the country selling the Kramer lawsuit . Are we surprised by the raid, not at all. Now what about the millions clients have paid Kramer to save their homes..? To be continued

Mass Joinder Lawsuits are the latest scam being peddled to desperate homeowners facing foreclosure. Hustlers are pitching that for a $4000 upfront fee, homeowners can join a lawsuit to sue their bank. The pitch is that homeowners will then get their foreclosures stopped and yes, may even get their homes free and clear.
The scam is often peddled by non-lawyers, through dozens of websites, direct mail, and late night calls. Many of the scammers are the same con men that sold empty promises of mortgage modifications for big upfront fees. This scheme is no different. Take upfront fees and then sit back and let homeowners lose their homes. Watch Investigative Guy John Mattes expose them.
Here’s what authorities around the country are saying about the scheme:
California Department of Real Estate
FRAUD WARNING REGARDING LAWSUIT MARKETERS REQUESTING UPFRONT FEES FOR SO-CALLED “MASS JOINDER” OR CLASS LITIGATION This alert is written to warn consumers about marketing companies, unlicensed entities, lawyers, and so-called attorney-backed, attorney-affiliated, and lawyer referral entities that offer and sell false hope and request the payment of upfront fees for so-called “mass joinder” or class litigation that will supposedly result in extraordinary home mortgage relief.
BBB
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) warns homeowners to steer clear of mailings asking them to join national “mass joinder” lawsuits to force their mortgage companies to cut their loan payments.
Michelle Corey, BBB president and CEO, says the mailings are a new twist on schemes to obtain up-front payments of $5,000 or more from homeowners struggling to pay their mortgages.
Denver District Attorney
DON’T JOIN THE MASS JOINDER LAWSUIT
Consumers in the Denver area are receiving official-looking forms that declare “You may be a plaintiff in a national mass joinder suit.”
The District Attorney’s Office believes these mailings are a scam, and recommends that anyone receiving this mailing not respond.

WELL today the Feds acted Bank of America Corp. (BAC), Citigroup Inc. (C) and JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) were among the 17 lenders sued by the Federal Housing Finance Agency for allegedly misleading Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac about billions of dollars of residential mortgage-backed securities.
This is maddness. We were scammed by the banks during the bubble. They knew this was nonsustaining, they sold homes for way inflated prices. They didnt care about those left in the aftermath. The US Goverment is owned by the banks. The banks paid the investors that lost money over 6 billion dollars. My home has lost 50% value. We need to sue the banks this lawsuit is based on fraud, concealment, nondisclosure, and many more terrible offences. The banks are untouchable unless we stand up for ourselves and do something about it.

Message:
I’ve been speaking with a rep from “Mortgagereliefcenter.com”. They have offered me Foreclosure defense against Bank of America. They offer 3 potential outcomes if I participate in their suit, which would cost me $4,500. Are they legit?
Q. What are the potential outcomes of a case like this?
A. There are 3potential outcomes of a case like this:
*Pre-trial settlement: As each client joins the mass joinder action the lender will receive a pre-trial settlement offer per the following terms. (Note: we are not negotiating with your lender or servicer; we are using legal document demands on a Form 998).
Principal loan balance reduced to 70% of current market value.
Interest rate reduced to 2% fixed for life of loan.
*Amnesty Program: Counsel will be working with legislation to create a potential amnesty program. The results will likely be a universal modification approach. If successful, this process will indemnify the lending institutions from multitrillion-dollar litigation while providing homeowners universal term reductions. Counsel anticipates our clients “having a seat at the table” will be offered increased settlement options.
*Full Lien Strip: This is the intentional outcome of each of the 6 suits. Counsel has stated they are seeking a complete dismissal of the lien. Please respond ASAP as I have not yet made a commitment to them. Thanks!!
I contacted http://www.nineyearmortgage.com which I’d heard about on a conservative talk radio show. After a brief discussion about my situation, they said they couldn’t help me, but asked if they could have someone else call me, who referred me to Mortgagereliefcenter. They seemed straight up, until they told me about the fee. The last post I received, which mentions the payment schedule, follows (in blue):ubject: RE: Intake Follow Up

Hi Debbie,
I work for an intake & processing center for 2 nationwide law firms. We help homeowners modify and litigate. If I thought to go the route of a modification I would’ve recommended that route, you are in a Adj rate mortgage at 3.5% there is no benefit to modify, what they are going to do is raise your mortgage payment for 6 months to cover the late payments…why would you do that ?
